If you register a car in Ada County, your fee isn't changing. Voters approved extending the local vehicle registration fee through 2046 with no increase, and unofficial results show 81.8% in favor. Without the vote, the fee would have expired in 2028.

The fee brings in about $14 million a year, and KTVB reports the money is secured for local infrastructure projects. Commission President Miranda Gold said it helps pay for road and bridge repairs, traffic projects, safe routes to school, sidewalks and neighborhood transportation improvements.

  • Rates: no increase from current fees
  • First approved: 1990, renewed in 2008
  • Raises: about $14 million a year
  • Old sunset date: 2028

Highway district seats were on the same ballot. As of 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, the Idaho Statesman reported that Gold was leading Sean Sundwall in District 3, though most of the count so far was early and absentee votes.

Boise State lands at No. 25 in the first College Football Playoff rankings

If you've been following the Broncos, here's the news. The College Football Playoff committee ranked Boise State No. 25 in its first rankings Tuesday, and no other team made the list. It's Boise State's first appearance in the committee's rankings since 2024.

Here's the twist: the highest-ranked Group of 6 team is guaranteed a playoff spot, so the Broncos are lined up to play No. 5 Alabama in the first round. Committee chair Hunter Yuracheck cited "quality wins against Memphis, on the road at Fresno State, on the road at Western Michigan." 107.9 LITE FM says New Mexico is the closest challenger for that spot.

I’m pro-2A, but why is there a need to have a ballot initiative to choose an Idaho state gun?

“It’s the stupidest thing I have ever been asked to vote on. Is this necessary? At all? So glad to see our state legislators spending our money and time on these so-called “important” issues.”
