- ➤ Boise Fire Department Captain Christopher Hendershot and Senior Firefighter Peter Hammett earned the First Responder Award for a daring helicopter swiftwater rescue earlier this year and will be honored at the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl on Dec. 22 at Boise State University. KBOI
- ➤ Washington State & Utah State football teams teamed up to package over 40,000 non-perishable meals ahead of the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. The seventh annual Tackle Hunger event swaps helmets for hairnets to boost efforts against food insecurity by supporting neighbors in need. KBOI

- ➤ Last week, Ada County dispatcher Kristine guided a father through a baby delivery when his wife went into active labor and helped them until paramedics arrived. The Ada County Sheriff's office awarded her a rare stork pin — an honor few dispatchers earn — for her lifesaving actions. KBOI
- ➤ Boise officials announced the new Slow Zone Pilot Program which will reduce the default speed limit to 20 mph in areas from Fourth to 28th and State to Hill starting in January for improved safety. Drivers are urged to watch for new signage + flags at marked crossings to guide pedestrians and cyclists. KBOI

- ➤ On Dec. 18, first responders from Boise PD and Idaho State Police gathered outside St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital to support young patients during the holiday season by lighting the children’s wing from 6:30 to 6:45 p.m.; traffic was managed on E. Jefferson Street. KBOI
