- ➤ Community support grows as St. Vincent de Paul holds its 26th annual Cookies for Corrections event and volunteers deliver donated cookies to incarcerated residents at the South Boise Prison Complex until Dec. 19 — a gesture of holiday cheer fostering connection during a challenging time. KBOI
- ➤ Idaho leaders and the Department of Health and Welfare are hosting the second annual Foster Care Christmas Fundraiser to raise $66,000 for gift cards for over 300 foster teens and adults statewide this holiday season. One donor will match contributions until $25,000 is reached. KBOI

- ➤ The Idaho Lottery reported one ticket won $200,000 after matching four white balls and the Powerball with the Power Play multiplier, and residents can purchase tickets until 7:54 p.m. (MT) to try for today's $1.25 billion drawing. KIDO

- ➤ Nampa Job Corps is accepting students again after federal cuts once threatened its closure, and the program will offer job training to local residents. The initiative aims to meet community needs and support workforce development. Idaho Press

- ➤ Ada County Board of Commissioners signed a contract with the Trauma Intervention Program of the Treasure Valley (TIPs) to enhance support at the County Victim Services Center, which provides 24/7 help for victims of abuse. Officials say the new partnership will add trained volunteers to strengthen community support. KBOI
- ➤ Tuesday morning, the Idaho State Board of Land Commissioners held a Christmas event at the Capitol’s 2nd Floor Rotunda in Boise. The event featured a Capital High School performance by the Capital Singers & a symbolic Big Check for $68M allocated to students, part of a $110M FY 2026 fund. KBOI
- ➤ The Navy took delivery of the future USS Idaho on Dec. 15 and it will now undergo testing and sea trials before active service begins this spring. Built by Electric Boat and Newport News Shipbuilding, the 26th Virginia-class submarine is the fifth Navy ship named for the state. Local News 8
