- ➤ The Village at Meridian started the holiday season on Black Friday when wildlife educator Corbin Maxey presented Santa’s reindeer Comet and Cupid—local shoppers enjoyed a close look at the festive animals amid busy holiday errands. Maxey, who cares for more than 30 exotic animal rescues, said the reindeer amazed everyone who saw them up close. KBOI

- ➤ A family of seven was rescued near Pilot Peak while searching for a Christmas tree—emergency crews confirmed the family is safe. Idaho Press

- ➤ Boise’s biggest holiday weekend offers six festive events for families including the Saint Alphonsus Festival of Trees at Boise Centre, the Canyon County Festival of Trees at Ford Idaho Sports Center, a tree lighting on Black Friday, Nampa’s tree lighting celebration beginning Saturday, and Winter Garden aGlow at Idaho Botanical Garden. Today, residents can also enjoy the Boise Holiday Parade near the State Capitol at 10 a.m.—a festive start to a weekend full of holiday activities. KIDO
