- ➤ The Village at Meridian started the holiday season on Black Friday when wildlife educator Corbin Maxey presented Santa’s reindeer Comet and Cupid—local shoppers enjoyed a close look at the festive animals amid busy holiday errands. Maxey, who cares for more than 30 exotic animal rescues, said the reindeer amazed everyone who saw them up close. KBOI

- ➤ Boise’s biggest holiday weekend offers six festive events for families including the Saint Alphonsus Festival of Trees at Boise Centre, the Canyon County Festival of Trees at Ford Idaho Sports Center, a tree lighting on Black Friday, Nampa’s tree lighting celebration beginning Saturday, and Winter Garden aGlow at Idaho Botanical Garden.
