COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ After three weeks on the run, small dachshund Tessa was rescued by ITD crew members Joe and Kurt—who worked with the Snake River Animal Shelter—to be reunited with her owner. Tessa disappeared into tall weeds on Monday after a dangerous escape across busy interstate lanes and will soon return to her owner, who lost her husband in a late October car crash. KBOI
- ➤ Boise Rescue Mission Ministries will host two Thanksgiving banquets—one in Nampa on November 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at College Church of the Nazarene and one in Boise on November 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Vineyard Boise Christian Fellowship—to provide a holiday meal and food box for registered participants, with Nampa registration closing November 20 and Boise registration closing November 23. - ➤ Barbacoa announced it is expanding into its Harris Ranch space with a new restaurant—Coa Cantina—that will combine its style with Sushi Shack and offer a walk-through countertop dining experience featuring tacos, burritos and tequila. It will open near the beginning of 2026. KIDO
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Saint Alphonsus Festival of Trees will run from Nov. 26 to 30 and will offer online bidding for decorated trees, wreaths and holiday décor; bidding for large trees ends Nov. 30 at 6 p.m. while bids for other items close Dec. 1. Proceeds will support the Saint Alphonsus Heart Institute and guests can vote for their favorite display while enjoying family-friendly exhibits — featuring nearly 100 trees and live performances. - ➤ The First Presidency announced Wednesday it will end the Saturday evening session at General Conference effective April 2026 — the change shifts focus to the four daytime sessions. Local News 8

- ➤ The American Automobile Association and Boise Airport expect record-setting Thanksgiving travel as many Idaho residents plan to hit the road for the holiday. Local officials will work with agencies — monitor travel conditions and coordinate responses as the holiday approaches. Idaho Press

- ➤ Boise School District has named Robin Butler as the new principal of Valley View Elementary School, effective Dec 1, and she will take over from Rick Jordan, who will serve as assistant principal at Fairmont Junior High.
