  • This weekend, Boise hosts many activities — the Veterans Parade starts today at the Capitol at 10 a.m. with a 10:10 kickoff, a free Craft and Chocolate Affaire runs at Nampa Civic Center, and Boise State will face Utah Valley at ExtraMile Arena at 2 p.m.; families can also visit the Kids Discovery Expo and attend candlelight concerts at First Presbyterian Church.  KIDO

  • Three Idaho companies were recognized as among America's most ethical—Clif Bar Baking Company in Twin Falls earned a ranking of 17, Idaho Forest Group in Coeur d'Alene ranked 95, and Idaho Central Credit Union in Pocatello received a ranking of 98.  KIDO

CULTURE NEWS

  • Boise residents have rediscovered 1980s footage showing downtown and local businesses that no longer exist—video posted on TikTok has sparked nostalgia among locals. Commenters say they miss the old Boise even as the city continues to change.  KIDO

  • The College of Eastern Idaho is using zero-based budgeting for the first time to examine each department’s expenses from scratch. This new method forces staff to set priorities—identifying which needs are urgent as enrollment grows.  KBOI

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On November 6, the Farmers’ Almanac announced its 2026 edition will be the final publication after a 208-year run—Idaho received a bold winter forecast predicting cold snaps and snowfall mid-January and mid-February while its website will wind down in December.  KIDO

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Boise has banned burning leaves and yard waste inside city limits unless a permit is obtained for limited setups near fence lines or ditches—residents must use the weekly compost cart or designated drop-off sites to dispose of yard debris.  KIDO
  • A government shutdown has slowed travel at Boise Airport as many TSA agents and air traffic controllers are absent, causing long lines and delays. Travelers are advised to use the free MyTSA app to check security wait times and review TSA rules during the busy holiday season.  KIDO
  • Ada County Highway District has imposed a one-lane restriction on Linder Road at West Saguaro Drive because a waterline broke—Veolia crews work on emergency repairs while flaggers direct traffic, which may delay the evening commute.  KBOI
