The Kuna Chamber of Commerce said rising costs put the Down Home Country Christmas Nightlight Parade at risk unless a $5,000 sponsor was found.

On October 8, the chamber announced that community support quickly met the goal—ensuring the cherished holiday event takes place this season.

The Boise City Department of Arts and History runs the Traffic Box Art Project, which has turned utility boxes into art focused on climate action and neighborhood connection since 2009.

Local artists can apply until Oct.15 (each entry winning a $1,200 award and a chance to work with a fabricator) to add new art to around 220 boxes across the city.

If approved, the city will use the funds to buy park land and support environmental projects from 2026 to 2027.
