COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Kuna Chamber of Commerce said rising costs put the Down Home Country Christmas Nightlight Parade at risk unless a $5,000 sponsor was found. On October 8, the chamber announced that community support quickly met the goal—ensuring the cherished holiday event takes place this season.  KIDO

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Boise City Department of Arts and History runs the Traffic Box Art Project, which has turned utility boxes into art focused on climate action and neighborhood connection since 2009. Local artists can apply until Oct.15 (each entry winning a $1,200 award and a chance to work with a fabricator) to add new art to around 220 boxes across the city.  KBOI

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Boise officials announced that the city will break ground on its first recycled water facility in 2027 + the project aims to enhance water reuse and support sustainability as planning and regulatory reviews continue.  Idaho Press

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Boise voters will see the Clean Water and Open Space Levy on their November ballots — the third time this measure is offered. If approved, the city will use the funds to buy park land and support environmental projects from 2026 to 2027.  KBOI

SPORTS NEWS

  • Coach Jason Eck left the Idaho Vandals last season to lead the struggling New Mexico Lobos. His Lobos will face Boise State at Albertsons Stadium this Saturday—Eck hopes his past success will spark an upset.  KIDO
