  • Music fans from Boise will drive to Salt Lake City this weekend for the three day RedWest Music Festival — a major country music event where stars such as Post Malone will perform.  KIDO

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Boise State University Linguistics department will host Marc Okrand and Paul Frommer on Thursday, Oct. 9 at 6:30 p.m.—the linguists who created Klingon and Na’vi will explain how they built languages for movies and shows; BSU freshmen will also build their own language in a new class.  KBOI

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Nampa voted Monday to give the Ford Idaho Center to CWI—ending a dispute over its future.  Idaho Press

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Idaho auto experts warned drivers to prepare vehicles for winter by checking windshield wipers, tires using the quarter test, and fluid levels—steps that help avoid costly breakdowns when snow and ice arrive. They also advised replacing fluids with antifreeze washer fluid and keeping an emergency kit in the car to ensure safe travel.  Local News 8

  • Boise State and Idaho State announced they will renew their rivalry when they meet on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2030 at Albertsons Stadium — the game will be the 32nd edition and the first since 2015 as both teams work to keep nonconference games in-state.  KBOI
