- ➤ Boise Costco took its popular rotisserie chicken off shelves when the kitchen underwent upgrades, leaving shoppers frustrated. The $5 chicken, known for its high salt content, is now back on shelves even though signs had said it would return in September — customers are relieved. KIDO
- ➤ Boise Towne Square Mall lost major stores including Kohl’s, Forever 21, and Volcom due to company cutbacks while it opened a new Fabletics location over the weekend — more new shops are expected soon. KIDO
- ➤ In Idaho, private businesses can choose not to accept cash because neither federal nor state law forces them to do so—only government agencies such as the DMV must accept cash as required by law. KIDO
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Canyon County leaders declared Domestic Violence Awareness Month on October 6 by sharing survivors' stories to spotlight a 5% increase in family violence—Sheriff Kieran Donahue urged community members to contact counselors and use shelters and hotlines to protect victims. KBOI
- ➤ West Ada School District said police called the schools—Renaissance, Idaho Fine Arts Academy and the District Service Center—into a temporary lockdown today around 3:15 p.m. because of a wanted suspect, and the lockdown lasted about 45 minutes before it was lifted. KBOI

- ➤ A deal announced last month in Boise confirmed that Taiwan will continue buying Idaho wheat—supporting local farmers with a steady trade arrangement. Idaho Press

- ➤ Idaho’s last Planned Parenthood will stay open as federal cuts reduce funding— the center says it will continue to serve patients and offer health care services. Idaho Press
