COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Boise families are enjoying indoor sports at Pyrrhic Tactical Sports in Nampa as the venue transforms the old Nampa Theatre into a hub for paintball, airsoft, laser tag, Nerf, gel blasters and VR gaming—providing a fun, weatherproof option for parties and group events while outdoor paintball runs until late November.  KIDO

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Kichii Sushi in downtown Boise will serve its final dinner on Saturday, September 27 — closing after one year of operation — as the restaurant directs guests to its sister Bodovino in Meridian.  KIDO

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Zumper’s report shows that national rent prices have stabilized with one-bedroom units at $1,517 and two-bedroom units falling by 0.2 percent to $1,894 in September while both annual rents dropped by 1 percent; the Mountain Region, including Boise, experienced rental declines — Salt Lake City recorded an 11.1 percent drop — as nearly 77,000 new rental units were added in the first quarter.  KBOI

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Boise city law and Idaho Fish & Game explain that it is legal to hit ducks if a driver cannot safely avoid them, but intentionally injuring a duck could lead to charges. Drivers are advised to brake safely instead of swerving—since overcorrection can create more danger.  KIDO
  • Payette County officials proposed a $40 million bond measure to build a new jail on county land near 7th Avenue North—this plan addresses an overcrowded facility built in 1972 that no longer meets standards. A Town Hall was held on September 24th with the sheriff and commissioners to answer questions before the measure goes to the November 4th ballot.  KBOI
