- ➤ The 2025 Western Idaho Fair ended on Sunday after a 10-day run that averaged 20,000 visitors each day. Deputies and paramedics answered over 300 calls and helped reunite nearly 50 lost children with their families — the Sheriff’s Labor Detail team also kept the fairgrounds clean. KBOI

- ➤ Valley County Sheriff's Office updated evacuation statuses for West Mountain areas—WM05 is clear of notices, WM06 remains at READY and WM07 is downgraded from SET to READY—and noted that Rock Fire, which started on Aug. 12, was caused by lightning. KBOI
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ On Tuesday afternoon the 9th and Front Garage in downtown fixed its payment system by switching from a magnetic ticket to a QR code—Apple Pay option that lets drivers exit without delays. Capital City Development Corp. said it will complete similar upgrades by the end of summer to ease downtown parking. KIDO

- ➤ Ada County has named John Blake as the new chief of Ada County Paramedics and he will take his role on November 1st—according to a county news release. Idaho Press
- ➤ The Idaho Public Utilities Commission is accepting public comment on Idaho Power’s proposed rate increase—residents can share their views as the agency awaits input for its decision. Idaho Press
- ➤ The Ada County Highway District approved a $257 million budget for Fiscal Year 2026 after a unanimous 5—0 vote at a public hearing on August 27; the budget, effective October 1, funds a $125 million capital program for over 100 projects and recovers $2.1 million in lost property tax revenue for projects like Linder Road and Floating Feather. - ➤ Boise State's Blue turf has been named the best attraction for sports fans in a USA Today poll for the third consecutive year—more than 18,500 visitors from all 50 states and 50 different countries travel to see the turf.
