- ➤ The Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic will host Kid’s Day on August 27 at Ann Morrison Park—children who can sit without help can enjoy free tethered rides as pilots begin inflating balloons after 7:00 a.m. weather permitting. KIDO
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Meridian police asked for help to identify a male dirt bike rider who was seen riding recklessly near N. Linder Road — he fled after officers attempted to stop him and was later seen near the Bridge Tower subdivision wearing a light grey hooded sweatshirt and black helmet. KBOI
- ➤ Boise police and fire responded around 2:19 a.m. on Monday to report suspicious circumstances near Cole and Lake Hazel when first responders discovered a car submerged in a canal and an adult male deceased inside — a death investigation is underway. KBOI
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The All-American Rejects performed at the Western Idaho Fair last week and met local fans at The Record Exchange while trying a popular Idaho treat—ice cream potato. Their sold-out show drew long lines and excited crowds who enjoyed the band’s performance and the unique local flavor. KIDO
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Idaho's average wage for all jobs was $28.10 an hour in 2024, a 5.1% gain from 2023, and the median wage increased from $21.27 to $22.34 per hour. Employment rose by 2.7% statewide to 844,910 jobs with Boise adding 14,090 and Idaho Falls 2,820 jobs — Pocatello had the largest wage jump among MSAs. Local News 8

- ➤ Idaho Department of Fish and Game will stock over 4,500 catchable Rainbow trout this September near Salmon — locations include Blue Mountain Meadow Pond, Hayden Creek Pond, Kids Creek Pond, and Mosquito Flat Reservoir — to give local anglers more family fishing options. Local News 8
