- ➤ Today, the Bannock County Veterans Memorial Association asked local donors to help meet the goal to repair the 100-year-old Memorial Building—damaged by December 2024 flooding that left a $300,000 repair bill—with a recent anonymous $100,000 donation and a pledge to double all contributions until August 29; the group still needs $36,000 to complete the repairs. - ➤ The USS Idaho had its first meal on Thursday night when sailors enjoyed dessert featuring Idaho Spud Bars from the veteran-owned Idaho Candy Company—marking a historic milestone for the sub. The vessel was christened in March 2024 and will be commissioned in spring 2026. KBOI
