- ➤ On Aug. 19 at 9:22 p.m., an Ada County Sheriff's Office deputy on West Amity Road tried to stop a Nissan Rogue that sped away and led officers on a chase before they arrested the driver, Aden Dufurrena-Parks, in an unlocked camper on South Latigo Drive—drug paraphernalia was found. KBOI

- ➤ Today in downtown Boise the All-American Rejects host a pop-up meet & greet at The Record Exchange located at 1105 W Idaho St where fans can get autographs and buy an unreleased album ahead of their concert at the Western Idaho Fair. KIDO
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Researchers from Boise State University and Idaho State University found that Idahoans view wildfire, residential development, non-native plants, motorized recreational vehicles, and climate change as the chief threats to the sagebrush steppe — survey responses from 41 counties reveal varied opinions on management strategies across political and demographic lines. The study, conducted from October to November 2021, was supported by the National Science Foundation and the Idaho Rangeland Resources Commission. KBOI

- ➤ The Department of Veterans Affairs has realigned an extra $800 million this fiscal year for repairs and upgrades to make patient care safer. As part of the plan, the Boise VA Medical Center will get an expanded emergency room, new operating rooms, a replaced cath lab and MRI, a new HVAC system, elevator replacement, and an upgraded storm sewer system — changes that will benefit veterans.
