- ➤ A 20-acre vegetation fire in Eagle is threatening homes near Star Vista west of Hwy 55 and CBS2 crews plus extra resources are moving to the scene for more updates. KBOI
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Idaho State Police released over 550 pages of sealed records in the case against Bryan Kohberger, who pleaded guilty to murdering four University of Idaho students nearly three years ago—details include interviews from former classmates who described him as creepy and reserved. KBOI
- ➤ Lori Vallow Daybell is returning to Idaho to serve the remainder of her life sentences after spending a year in Arizona facing trials for murder conspiracy and attempted murder—she was convicted for first-degree murder and conspiracy in the deaths of her children. KBOI
- ➤ Boise police are investigating the death of a person found near a downtown parking garage — further details are not yet available and traffic restrictions on Front St. between Capital and 10th have been lifted. KBOI

- ➤ Shane Gillis, one of the hottest comedians right now, will perform at ExtraMile Arena at Boise State University campus on December 12—tickets go on sale on August 22 at 10:00 a.m. KIDO
- ➤ The Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic returns at Ann Morrison Park on Wednesday the 27th and will run through the 31st, drawing hundreds to see colorful hot air balloons and enjoy events such as Kids Day, Media Day, morning flights and the Nite Glow Spectacular. This 34th annual celebration offers a chance for locals to experience the excitement of ballooning up close—continuing a cherished Treasure Valley tradition. KBOI
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Anne Johnson from the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Center said scammers recently tricked a local resident into paying $700 for an online GED program that was fake, using ads for quick and free tests. The center now offers a proper GED program that covers costs, provides tutoring, and supports individuals 16 and older—ensuring they safely earn their credentials. Local News 8

- ➤ A section of the Boise River Greenbelt east of Glenwood Street between Boise Riverside RV Park and Plantation Island Bridge will close Sept. 2 for construction to join the Park at Expo Idaho design and will reopen in January. The Marigold Street parking lot remains open while walkers, cyclists, and runners use an alternate route. KBOI
- ➤ Local candidates for electable offices must register at their city or county offices from August 18th until 5pm on August 29th; in Idaho Falls, the mayor and three city council seats are open.
