- ➤ Local residents and Boise Parks and Recreation will transform a long-neglected dirt lot next to the Charles McDevitt Youth Sports Complex into a vibrant community park with a basketball court, bike paths, a dog park, and a nature play area using $1.2 million in impact fees instead of city funds. The project is expected to finish by 2026—restoring the neighborhood space for all. KBOI
- ➤ The Western Idaho Fair opens today and runs until August 24—offering rides, live music, food and events for families. CBS 2 sponsors free admission on August 16 for those bringing a non-perishable food donation while active duty military and veterans enter for free on August 20. KIDO

- ➤ The Boise County Sheriff's Office is asking the buyer of two stolen 2003 Honda CRF150 red dirt bikes reported missing from a Garden Valley resident last week to come forward and help with the investigation—officials note the bikes were sold without a bill of sale or title. KBOI
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Firefighters limited the Rock Fire to 2,100 acres near Tamarack Resort on Thursday using calmer winds, engine crews, and aerial drops—crews continue to work through the night to contain the blaze.
