ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A plane crashed in the backyard of a Nampa residence on Sunday night — the tragic incident claimed the lives of the three people onboard.  Idaho Press

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Target ended its policy of matching lower prices from competitors on July 28, so shoppers in Idaho can now only request a price match for items from Target (either in-store or online) if the price drops within 14 days.  KIDO

CRIME NEWS

  • Boise Police arrested business owner Andrew Stanley plus employee Andrew Fernandez from two shops on the 1700 and 6900 blocks of W. State Street on Friday, July 25 after finding thousands of illegal drug paraphernalia items plus lab materials used to make suspected concentrated cannabis products as part of ongoing education and enforcement efforts.  KBOI
  • Kuna police arrested James Mclaws after a high-speed chase ended when his red 2003 Ford Ranger crashed into a field on S. Ten Mile Road in Kuna — he was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and faces a felony charge of fleeing and eluding as the investigation continues.  KBOI

CULTURE NEWS

  • Boise unveiled its new Kaixo Corner park—located across from the historic Basque Block—with new seating, lighting and a small stage and integrated public art by Hua Studios that honors the city's immigration history. The park, under construction since January, opens ahead of the Jaialdi festival to celebrate diverse cultural contributions in one of Boise's oldest neighborhoods.  KBOI
  • A Boise-born artist is showing new artwork at Jaialdi that reinterprets Basque myths and honors early settlers who arrived in the Treasure Valley in the 1890s—connecting local history with fresh artistic vision.   • The Boise Hawks return to Memorial Stadium for a three-game homestand against the Missoula PaddleHeads today through Thursday with game start times at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday features a jersey unveiling at Wendy’s with a $5 hot dog offer while Wednesday will honor local heroes with pet-friendly activities and a cornhole tournament and Thursday offers baseball bingo with half-priced drinks—each event designed to provide fans with varied game-day experiences.  KBOI
