  • Lori Vallow, convicted of killing her children and found guilty of murder conspiracy in Boise, was handed her seventh life sentence yesterday—she claimed during her testimony that she had done nothing wrong.  KIDO

  • Boise's Oinkari Basque Dancers honor their heritage by performing traditional dances as they prepare for the Jaialdi festival. The dancers learned the steps from family members and uphold customs that originated in everyday life — preserving a vibrant cultural legacy.  KBOI
  • Boise musicians from Txantxangorriak have sustained Basque dance traditions for over twenty years by playing live music with the accordion and tambourine. They will perform at Jaialdi 2025 beginning July 29 — an event that connects generations through cherished cultural heritage.  KBOI

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today marks the 35th anniversary of the American Disabilities Act as many Boise residents gathered at Cecil Andrus Park for Hands Around the Capitol—an event by the Idaho Access Project to raise awareness of disability rights and introduce the Navilens navigation app. Cultural performances and educational booths helped explain how the app can guide people who are blind or have low vision.  KBOI

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Ada County Mosquito Abatement District confirmed the first West Nile virus detection in local mosquitoes collected in Boise near North Grenville Place and West Cory Lane and in Meridian near the Star Road bridge over the Boise River. The district started truck-mounted abatement treatments & will continue monitoring to help reduce potential risks.  KBOI
