  • The new Treasure Valley Family YMCA in the heart of Boise is making progress and is asking local residents for contributions to solidify its completion & support the construction effort.  Idaho Press

CULTURE NEWS

  • Boise’s newest circus school, Circus Vision, teaches aerial arts and flying trapeze to kids and adults eager to learn new skills. The school began offering aerial classes two months ago after its predecessor closed — it now includes silks, lyra, hammocks, and rope classes.  KBOI

  • The state has received 42 applications as it continues its search for the next Boise State president—official shortlisting is expected to begin soon.  Idaho Press

  • Today, Idaho Governor Brad Little will host U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. at 11:45 a.m.—the event celebrates Idaho’s role in promoting the Make America Healthy Again movement.  KIDO
  • U.S. senators from Idaho have reintroduced a bill to split the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals—lawmakers will review the measure in upcoming sessions.  Idaho Press
  • Representatives from the Ada County Highway District and Boise city leaders gathered Tuesday to mark pedestrian-focused improvements at a reimagined intersection on the western edge of downtown — changes aimed at enhancing safety for children and teens.  Idaho Press

HEALTH NEWS

  • Canyon County health officials confirmed that West Nile Virus was found in mosquitos collected on July 15th, marking the first case this year in the county—residents are urged to use repellents, wear long sleeves, and remove standing water to lower their risk of infection during summer.  KIDO
  • The U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued six food and product recalls last week to protect Idaho consumers—families are urged to check their groceries and pet supplies for affected items.  KIDO
