- ➤ A new mural called 'Community Solar for All' was unveiled in downtown Boise today by youth with the Idaho Climate Justice League who want the city to adopt community solar power — Mayor McLane and City Council Member Jordan Morales attended the event to thank the groups, with the artwork painted on East Parkcenter Boulevard. - ➤ Boise’s former JOANN Fabrics store on Federal Way is now a Treasure Valley Spirit Halloween pop-up store—permits were issued on July 13 for temporary signage, and it will run for at least a few months. The pop-up store aims to serve seasonal shoppers until the end of its planned period. KIDO

- ➤ On July 16th around 10 a.m., Eagle Police arrested 31-year-old Haleigh Rose Caldwell after a black SUV hit a traffic flagger near the intersection of West Floating Feather Road and Park Lane where the road had been closed for freshly applied oil; deputies later caught her near W. Willowbridge Lane and South Linder Road. KBOI

- ➤ Today, protestors from Idaho 50501 staged a die-in outside Representative Mike Simpson’s office on Bannock Street in Boise to protest the Big Beautiful Bill that cuts Medicaid funding and increases ICE support—demonstrators used gravestone-shaped signs and chalk outlines to mimic a crime scene while noting they had not received a meeting invitation despite an offer for early August from Simpson’s office. - ➤ Today, community members are invited to join a public meeting on plans for the future Highway 16-44 interchange; the meeting will allow an input-based review of the forthcoming construction. Idaho Press
- ➤ U.S. Senators Jim Risch and Mike Crapo from Idaho and Senator Eric Schmitt from Missouri introduced the Graham Hoffman Act, which would make assaulting first responders a federal crime—named for a fallen firefighter—in response to the June 29 ambush in Coeur D'Alene that killed two firefighters and injured another. The measure is also supported by Senators Josh Hawley, Ashley Moody, Ted Cruz, Bill Hagerty, and Maggie Hassan. KBOI
