BUSINESS NEWS

  • Tipsy Chef Café in Meridian offers a seed oil free menu for breakfast, brunch and lunch. Co-owners Julie and Travis Berger opened the restaurant three years ago with culinary experience from Beverly Hills and France and now serve local meats, eggs and produce along with breakfast cocktails and a full latte bar — all while supporting local vendors.  KBOI

CRIME NEWS

  • A Boise man was sentenced to 22 years to life after a DUI-hit-and-run in June last year injured two pedestrians and damaged parked vehicles—an incident that ended with an on-foot chase.  Idaho Press

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On Thursday, the Boise School District defended the 'Everyone is Welcome Here' sign—after West Ada School District labeled it controversial in March—and confirmed that it meets the standards set by a new law—according to the attorney general’s opinion.  Idaho Press

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Idaho Transportation Department announced I-84 will close on Sunday and Monday nights — construction at the Karcher Interchange starts at 10:00 p.m. with roads reopening by 5:00 a.m. each morning. Detours for both eastbound and westbound traffic are set up — drivers should follow posted signs during the closures.  KBOI
  • The Idaho Transportation Department will change the westbound traffic pattern on I-84 in Caldwell starting Sunday night—motorists must merge into the right lane to exit at Centennial Way, while the left lane continues straight without exit access. The westbound off-ramp will close from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Sunday, and early next month the department will begin the next phase of construction to reopen the 10th Avenue on-ramp.  KBOI
