CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Scammers are targeting Idaho shoppers during Prime Day, which starts today at 1 a.m. MT and lasts until July 11—fraudsters use fake Amazon websites to steal credit card information while Amazon previously removed over 55,000 phishing pages to combat this crime. KIDO
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Maid in the Shade, a WWII B-25 Mitchell that took part in the Doolittle Raid, is on display at Caldwell Airport from today until July 13. The bomber landed Monday and will be shown to visitors — it is a rare piece of our wartime history. KBOI
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Hydrologists say Idaho's water supply is in trouble as dry weather and high temperatures since April 1 have lowered Snake River storage—eastern areas may face water shortages in August and September while reservoirs in Boise may have little carryover for the next irrigation season. KBOI
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Nampa Mayor Debbie Kling has backed a plan to transfer the Ford Idaho Center to the College of Western Idaho to create new opportunities amid budget constraints—officials say the change will not affect the venue's operations. A town hall meeting is scheduled at the Les Schwab Corral on July 15 from 4 to 6 p.m. to discuss the proposal with local residents. KBOI
- ➤ Today, Boise allows bridge jumping if you land more than 50 feet from floaters, but you may get a $100 fine & face extra citations if you block passersby. KIDO
- ➤ The Idaho Transportation Department will begin sealcoating Highway 55 tomorrow from 12 miles north of Banks to 28 miles south near Horseshoe Bend and finish early August. Motorists should expect one-lane work zones with crews working Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Friday until 12:00 p.m. (delays may last up to 30 minutes) (consider alternate routes).
