COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Boise will host its annual Fourth of July parade with floats, horses, firetrucks and antique cars, and Zamzows is debuting a Patriotic Pet Parade where pets dress in red, white, and blue—participants may win gift card prizes as the pet parade starts at 9 a.m. on July 4 with the main event beginning at 10 a.m.  KBOI
  • A section of the Boise River Greenbelt near Warm Springs Park will close for demolition and rebuilding starting Monday, June 30, and detour signs will guide users to Baybrook Court Bridge—East Parkcenter Bridge.  KBOI

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Firefighters from Boise and the Meridian Fire Department responded at 10:30 a.m. today to a structure fire on W Stonewood Dr. where a single-story home was fully engulfed, all occupants evacuated safely, and a dog was rescued as crews began a defensive attack with aerial master streams.  KBOI
  • A motorcyclist survived a fiery crash near Glenwood—Lorimer Lane on June 25 in Garden City after speeding over 60 mph in a 35 mph zone, striking two vehicles and suffering a broken arm before being cited for reckless driving.  KBOI

CRIME NEWS

  • Cyber security experts warn Idaho job seekers against texts from alleged recruiters—scams that have grown since early May—and they urge anyone who receives these messages to report them to the FTC.  KIDO

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Ammon Mayor Sean Coletti announced today on social media that he will not seek re-election in 2026 because he wants to pursue other community goals. He said his last day in office will be December 31 — and he remains active in local affairs by supporting an unnamed individual planning to run for mayor.  Local News 8
  • On June 24th, Boise City Council approved a change in the city code that imposes a $10 fine for sleeping in public — the penalty will take effect July 1 to comply with Senate Bill 1141, which bans public camping on city property in larger cities. This move is part of Boise's effort to align with state law.  KIDO
