CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Idaho State Police recommend that cattle owners brand their cows right away and keep them in secure areas—this advice aims to reduce the rise in livestock theft and help authorities act quickly if any cows go missing. KIDO
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Idaho is famous for potatoes but also grows other crops that made over $1 billion in 2024, the United States Department of Agriculture said. The many types of crops help the local economy and create jobs — showing that farming remains important in the state. KIDO
- ➤ The Idaho Lottery reported that the $1 million winter lottery prize won in Star has not been claimed and the ticket holder must claim it by June 30th at 5 p.m. MST or forfeit the prize — three $1,000 prizes in Rathdrum, Nampa, and Middleton also remain unclaimed. KIDO

- ➤ A bat found in front of the Owyhee Building on Main Street in downtown Boise tested positive for rabies on Thursday — residents who may have come in contact with the bat are advised to consult their primary care provider and call a health epidemiologist for guidance. KBOI
- ➤ Doctors say a new COVID variant, nicknamed (Nimbus), is spreading in Idaho and causes runny nose, fever, nausea, vomiting and razor blade throat but is not expected to lead to major outbreaks. Experts warn that older people and those with weak immune systems remain most at risk and expect only a small rise in cases over the summer. KIDO
