- ➤ Local agencies launch the Summer Cooling plan to offer safe shelter to community members experiencing homelessness amid extreme heat by uniting Our Path Home with partners like Interfaith Sanctuary, Corpus Christi House, Boise Public Library, CATCH’s Street Outreach and Treasure Valley Family YMCA — the plan provides services from June 9 until the end of September — and seeks seasonal donations to reduce health risks. - ➤ Ike Tomlinson, a former fuel truck supply company owner in Boise, was sentenced to 12 months in prison and fined $20,000 for conspiring to rig bids on wildfire contracts—he pleaded guilty in May 2024 and coordinated bids with another operator—court documents show. KBOI
- ➤ Nampa police are searching for 12-year-old Cienna Marie Guarascio, who is 5 feet tall, weighs 160 pounds, and has blond hair and green eyes—her family received a tip that she might be with friends nearby. KBOI
- ➤ Vallow-Daybell’s attorney filed an appeal with the Idaho Supreme Court to overturn her murder and other convictions in Idaho—arguing that her constitutional rights to choose counsel, receive due process, and have a speedy trial were violated—while she remains on trial in Arizona following her 2023 life sentence. - ➤ The Idaho Transportation Department announced it will close I-84 under the Karcher Interchange Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. to place girders on the new overpass bridge—motorists will follow detour routes with westbound traffic affected Tuesday and eastbound traffic affected Wednesday. - ➤ Over the weekend, Judge Claudia Wilkin approved a settlement between Grant House and the NCAA that will share up to $20.5 million in profits this academic year and pay $2.7 billion over 10 years to players from 2016 to 2024. Boise State said its athletics director, Jeramiah Dickey, confirmed the school will not cut any sports programs due to new roster limits — a change that now lets cut players return as Designated Student-Athletes.
