- ➤ Dozens of employers saw firsthand what military service members do during the Idaho National Guard’s Boss Lift event held yesterday at Gowen Field — a program that strengthened the connection between civilian employers and their team members. KBOI
- ➤ High Desert Harley-Davidson is hosting its 16th annual Idaho Patriot Thunder Ride today at 10 a.m. at Carl Miller Park in Mountain Home; hundreds of riders will help raise funds for military families as food trucks, live bands, & raffles add to the event. KBOI
- ➤ New Census estimates show Kuna posted an 8.4% rise in population to 31,525 between July 1, 2024 and July 1, 2025 and ranked 11th among U.S. cities with over 20,000 residents. KBOI
- ➤ Mountain Home Air Force Base will host the Gunfighter Skies Airshow this weekend from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event returns for the first time since 2018 and features USAF Thunderbirds pushing jets to their limits (free admission). KBOI
- ➤ Hundreds of pet rabbits are multiplying in Boise with little oversight so the Idaho Humane Society ended its rabbit program; officials say the change was due to the unchecked bunny growth. Idaho Press
- ➤ A quarter drive has been launched to send Idaho’s Liberty Bell on a statewide tour; residents can donate spare coins (from couch creases or cars) to support the effort. Idaho Press
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A Garden City officer rescued a baby locked in a parked car without air conditioning on Thursday, May 14 and transferred the child to Ada County Paramedics and Boise Fire for a medical checkup. KBOI
- ➤ The Pasadena Valley Fire started Wednesday night when a tractor-trailer toppled on I-84 near Glenn's Ferry and grew to nearly 1,200 acres before firefighters secured its perimeter as winds died down, lifting earlier evacuation orders and advising eastbound travelers to slow down. KBOI

- ➤ Wing Stop (the popular chain) has opened its first Kuna location, adding to the dining options in the growing area. Local leaders thanked the Kuna community on social media, marking this expansion as part of the Treasure Valley's upward momentum. KIDO

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Idaho state revenues exceeded projections in April with collections reaching $808.2 million and a projected year-end surplus of $26.4 million if tax returns and refunds meet expectations. Budget officials noted changes in sales tax reporting and warned that pending tax refunds may affect final figures. KBOI
- ➤ Junior groundwater users drawing from the Eastern Snake Plain Aquifer must now secure an IDWR-approved mitigation plan or face curtailment, following a recent order addressing water shortfalls from surface water use. The updated order also accounts for a settlement with several groundwater districts. KBOI
