- ➤ A ninja park inspired by late 11-year-old Eva Plimmer opens this Sunday at 3 p.m. at Discovery Park in Meridian. Community members raised nearly $200,000 to complete the park—Daniel Gill from American Ninja Warrior will join the ribbon cutting amid food trucks and face painting. KBOI
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Hill Road is closed from Pierce Park Lane to Castle Drive as Idaho Power crews work on emergency repairs after a vehicle struck a power line overnight—flaggers are rerouting traffic and the closure is expected to last several hours. KBOI
- ➤ A fully engulfed structure fire broke out Monday night just after 10:00 p.m. in New Plymouth — multiple fire departments including Payette Fire, Sand Hollow Fire, Fruitland Fire and the Payette County Sheriff's office responded while investigators work to determine the cause and no injuries were reported. - ➤ World famous auctioneers Dan and Laura Dotson from Storage Wars will appear at Idaho's Largest Garage Sale at Expo Idaho starting at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 17th—local fans are invited to meet them during the 17th annual event. KIDO
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Health officials report that heart disease caused 20% of deaths in Idaho in 2022 while cancer and accidents accounted for 18% and 7% respectively. Experts urge regular exercise, a healthy diet, and avoiding tobacco to help lower the risk of heart disease — advice meant to protect lives. KIDO
