UPS announced that it will lay off more than 20,000 workers in Idaho, Washington and Utah and close 73 locations by the end of June, and the company has a deal to add 30,000 jobs (via a Teamsters agreement).

US Bank will close 320 branches nationwide in 2025, including eight in Idaho — as mobile banking growth reduces the need for physical branches.

Among the Idaho closures, three are in Boise — customers are advised to check for mobile banking or nearby branch options.

Boise teachers and staff have warned parents about a dangerous social media trend that involves inserting metal objects into USB ports on school devices — the prank may damage equipment and start a fire, although no incidents have been confirmed so far.
