COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The City of Boise has launched a survey to gather input from youth & their caretakers to guide improvements in city programs and policies. The survey will kick off a Youth Roadmap project and initial findings will be shared in the fall.  KBOI

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Volvo is recalling over 400,000 vehicles nationwide—including thousands in Idaho—after a rearview camera glitch may leave drivers without a proper display. Car owners are urged to call local dealerships soon to schedule repairs.  KIDO
  • Calle 75 Street Tacos closed its downtown dining room after reopening a month ago following a remodel because it lost its head chef, struggled to hire staff, and faced rising food costs—the restaurant will focus on takeout lunches and catering while it plans its next steps for the space.  KIDO

CRIME NEWS

  • Bryan Kohberger, accused of fatally stabbing four University of Idaho students at an off-campus home, reportedly searched online for Ted Bundy and nonconsensual sex pornography — People Magazine reported the searches occurred before and after the killings — while serving as a teacher's assistant.  KBOI
  • An 18-year-old Caldwell man identified as Joshua Eron Molvig fired a handgun near Alameda Elementary School in Ontario when a staff member approached him and a deputy arrived—police confirmed that everyone is safe and he now faces multiple charges.  KBOI

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • The Idaho Humane Society is featuring Bob the Rooster— a medium-sized black and tan bird— for adoption at the IHS Boise Shelter at 4775 Dorman St., with visits running Tuesday through Saturday 11 am to 7 pm and Sunday 11 am to 5 pm while his adoption fee is $5.  KBOI
  • Five new restaurants in Boise and nearby areas may soon become local favorites as Corso Italian Steak—known for its retro vibe and standout seafood dish—and Bardenay in Garden City, Rosa, Pig Latin in Eagle, and Belmont Brew House earn high praise for their unique menus and strong customer ratings.  KIDO

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Boise Hawks will begin their 2025 season with a six-game home series at Memorial Stadium starting Tuesday, May 20 when they host the Idaho Falls Chukars. The return of the Highway Series will have teams battling for the Traffic Cone Trophy—an annual rivalry that runs through the season.  KBOI
  • Monster Jam returned to the Ford Idaho Center on Friday and continues today with high-octane monster truck stunts — the event will conclude on Sunday with tickets still available.  KBOI
