  • Firehouse Subs in Boise and Meridian will offer free Steak and Cheese melt sandwiches on Wednesday, May 6th to customers with names like Mike as per its Instagram post — participants may need to show a valid ID.  KIDO

  • Local favorite Aaron Paul will star in the upcoming film Anything but Ghosts — filming is finished and details remain under wraps after he hosted a watch party for his film Ash at the Egyptian Theatre; more updates are expected soon.  KIDO

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Boise State University is moving forward with renaming Cesar Chavez Lane after receiving over 2,500 responses in favor. The school narrowed options to Friendship Lane, Campus Lane, and Peregrine Lane and will submit the choices to Ada County + the city for vetting in the next three to six weeks.  KBOI
  • The College of Western Idaho took control of the Ford Idaho Center roughly 100 days ago and is creating job opportunities for students while keeping concerts and rodeos on schedule. The center will host its first graduation event later this year.  KBOI

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Flock Cancer Walk will unite cancer survivors and families in Treasure Valley to honor life after treatment and connect participants with local support. Organizer Leslie Scantling said the event will include games, flowers (and treats) to help everyone feel welcome.  KBOI
