  • Capital City Public Market will open this weekend with local artisans, live entertainment, food vendors, and prize giveaways to launch its 2026 season. The event aims to offer an engaging local gathering for the community.  Idaho Press

CULTURE NEWS

  • Zoo Boise has announced the Perkins Coie Giraffe Encounter is back, where guests can feed the giraffes from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. The $5 ticket supports conservation & animal care.  KBOI
  • Cirque Italia Water Circus will tour southern Idaho with a show in Idaho Falls starting April 24 and Twin Falls performances from May 1-4. The traveling water show featuring acrobats, trapeze artists and flame jugglers will later pass through Boise.  KIDO
  • Boise Airport celebrated its 100th anniversary today as officials announced plans for expansion and more nonstop flights while reporting that over 165,000 travelers passed through last month with nearly 238,000 more passengers from 2024 to 2025.  KIDO

  • The city of Boise wraps flagpoles in Pride colors after a state law bans flying Pride flags on public property. Officials say the colorful change helps maintain community spirit + reflect local values.  Idaho Press
  • More than 300 Idaho Air National Guard members from the 124th Fighter Wing departed on March 29 to bolster U.S. Central Command operations in the Middle East as part of Operation Epic Fury - state officials praised their readiness, though a return date was not confirmed.  Local News 8
  • Nine-year-old Betty Grandy helped win support when Governor Brad Little signed House Bill 652 Tuesday morning to name hunting the official state sport; the law will take effect July 1.  Local News 8
