- ➤ Residents on the Boise Bench reported an invasion of about 500 to 600 rabbits that began when two pets were released, and they said the animals have damaged landscaping + affected sheds and drawn predators. The Idaho Humane Society is working to trap and control the rabbits+prevent further harm. KIDO
- ➤ Two Boise Instagram accounts Money Deal Treasure Valley and cashquestboise are hosting weekly viral scavenger hunts that hide cash prizes across Treasure Valley. Followers are urged to turn on post notifications to join—providing chances to win money with each event. KIDO
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Boise police arrested two men this week after discovering homemade bombs in a home. Idaho Press
- ➤ Today, Boise Fire warned the public that scammers are calling to ask for donations for the Local 149 Boise Firefighters Burnout Fund — the department said it never asks for donations by phone and told people to hang up if they receive such a call. KIDO
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The federal government closed five Head Start regional offices, including Region 10 that serves Idaho, and put staff on leave until June—raising concerns for programs that support nearly 4,000 children and families. HHS Secretary Kennedy ordered the closures, and programs worry that without a new plan, their work and funding approvals will suffer. KBOI

- ➤ The Idaho House State Affairs Committee passed a bill on Monday that would let courts end a parent's rights if the parent is convicted of abusing a minor—legislators will review the bill in future sessions as part of efforts to keep children safe. Idaho Press
- ➤ On Wednesday, the House approved the state's largest Medicaid budget—sending it to the governor for review—and the measure now awaits further action. Idaho Press
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ On March 12th and 13th, 212,268 pounds of liquid egg products were recalled after they might contain a cleaning solution with sodium hypochlorite — the recall was issued by the Food Safety and Inspection Service. Stores across Idaho are now pulling the affected products from shelves — consumers are urged to discard any cartons that list the recalled items. KIDO
