  • FarWest Garden Center on the cusp of Boise and Garden City is celebrating 50 years of planting — marking decades of community care.  Idaho Press
  • The Boise Farmers Market opens for the season on Saturday, Apr. 4 in Boise. Over 80 local farmers, ranchers, and makers will offer fresh veggies and proteins, and a program will provide 20 free grocery bags and SNAP & EBT matching for food-insecure families.  KBOI

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Oddbox Breakfast Project in downtown Boise updated its menu on March 30 (featuring new hashbrown sticks and french toast sticks) to offer a faster, tasty alternative to the usual long brunch lines. Patrons can order at the window or use the patio for seating.  KIDO

CULTURE NEWS

  • Seventh grader Kaya Murphy began a Wish Tree art project on W Cherry Ln that invites community members to tie cloth with wishes. Originally set for three days, the project is now extended due to strong neighborhood support (neighbors have shared wishes such as having a pet and peaceful days).  KBOI
  • Boise Music Festival will host free ticket stops at Expo Idaho on June 27 for acts including Marshmello, Sean Paul, and others — attendees may win up to two tickets per stop but must be present as lines are expected to be busy.  KIDO

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Rising gas prices and fertilizer costs are affecting Boise as global disruptions from the war in Iran drive up fuel expenses and input prices. A local resident noted that topping off his truck cost over a dollar more today, and farmers worry food prices may increase.  KIDO

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Starting Wednesday, Apr. 1, lane restrictions will be in effect on Vista Ave between Elder Street and Canal Street on the Vista Ave Bridge to support deck maintenance by the Ada County Highway District + drivers may experience delays near the Boise Airport.  KBOI

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • A popular Boise influencer has shared top Easter brunch spots and egg hunt events in the Treasure Valley. Families can look forward to the Community Egg Hunt (hosted by Capital Church this Saturday) and Meridian’s massive egg hunt on April 19 as they celebrate the holiday.  KIDO

SPORTS NEWS

  • Boise State Football is in spring practice today as coaches test players ahead of fall sessions, and the Broncos are currently ranked 39th among teams. They will open against Oregon at Eugene while stadium improvements costing $70M aim to boost the program.  KIDO
