  • Skatefort will unite the local skate community by featuring skateboarding, roller skating and music at a world-class skatepark—organized by the Boise Skateboard Association in partnership with Parks & Recreation to promote healthy, creative activity among residents.  KBOI

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Southern Idaho’s job market is set to grow as companies like Chobani and True West Beef add positions and help boost wages, a change that may keep families from moving far for work. The Interior Department will consider opening homebuilding on federally managed land—creating new construction jobs and lowering housing costs as new workers settle in the region, US Senator Mike Crapo said.  KIDO

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Yesterday, the Idaho Air National Guard deployed 300 Airmen from the 124th Fighter Wing to Southwest Asia for peacekeeping and combat operations under U.S. Central Command—this deployment is expected to last about six months.  KBOI
  • The Department of Government Efficiency updated its DOGE Cuts list, showing Idaho now has 7 lease terminations—down from 8 after removing an IRS listing—while Utah is reduced to 8 from 10 and Washington remains at 14. Officials said the website information will continue to change as they add and review data on real estate leases.  KIDO
