- ➤ Amazon filed a lawsuit against the Consumer Product Safety Commission on March 14th over recall notifications and continues to update its online recall page with nine products sold in Idaho that are now under urgent safety recalls — the dispute centers on whether the company should be held liable for recalls linked to third-party sellers. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Idaho Water Supply Committee said the water levels in southern basins—Weiser is at 140% of average, Payette at 132%, and Boise at 125%—show a strong supply as spring begins. Outdoor enthusiasts enjoyed nearly three feet of snow at Bogus Basin recently while North Idaho remains slightly below average. KBOI
- ➤ USA Today chose the Boise River Greenbelt as one of the best recreation trails in America—this 25-mile trail runs from Lucky Peak to Eagle and is open from sunrise to sunset. KIDO
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Idaho Department of Fish and Game is asking for volunteers to help replant shrubs after a busy wildfire season that saw over 60 fires, including the 187,000-acre Paddock Fire and the Valley Fire in the Boise Foothills. Wildlife habitat biologist Michael Young said the work will include planting by hand — his biggest call for volunteers yet — to help stop invasive cheatgrass and aid land recovery statewide. KBOI
- ➤ Governor Brad Little signed House Bill 41 that will ban five political flags from Idaho classrooms effective July 1—flags for the United States, Idaho, the military, school districts and mascots remain allowed. KIDO

- ➤ A recent analysis compared buying and renting in Boise—data from 2024 showed that homes cost about $480,000 with mortgage payments near $3,563, while rent averaged $1,750. Buyers must decide if paying more for a home is worth building equity as prices and demand continue to rise. KIDO
