- ➤ The Salvation Army is offering shelter, food assistance, and job programs to help homeless families in Treasure Valley amid rising homelessness — measures aimed at restoring stability. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ The FBI warned Idahoans to delete scam text messages known as smishing that try to trick users into sharing personal data—more than 2,000 complaints were reported recently and officials say the texts are fake since there are no toll roads here. KIDO
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Boise State is one of 45 universities under investigation for allegedly using race to limit admissions in its graduate programs. The U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights opened the review after a February 14 Dear Colleague Letter stressed ending racial preferences in education. Local News 8
- ➤ Boise State University President Marlene Tromp is interviewing this week for the top role at the University of Vermont—she is the sole finalist. She led enrollment growth and raised graduation rates at Boise State since 2019. KBOI

- ➤ The FDA announced a recall of acne creams sold in local stores due to elevated benzene levels that could raise cancer risk & urged consumers to check their cabinets for recalled items. KIDO
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Boise State did not earn a spot in the NCAA tournament even though it was on the bubble — instead, the team was named to a new post‐season tournament that features Utah, Arizona State, Georgetown, Washington State, USC, Colorado and Cincinnati. The tournament will offer a lucrative prize for semifinalists and be broadcast nationally on FS1 and FOX. KIDO
