COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Mountain America Credit Union surprised drivers at a Nampa gas station on Friday, March 13 by paying for their fuel as gas prices climbed, urging everyone to pay it forward & spread kindness.  KBOI
  • Cyclists of all ages will gather at Explore Outdoors Bicycle Bonanza on Saturday, May 16, at Discovery Park (2121 E. Lake Hazel Road) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., where vendor booths will offer bikes and gear and local clubs will share ride routes.  KBOI
  • Boise Airport set up donation boxes (located at all entrances) for spring break travelers to donate non-perishable food items in support of TSA officers working without pay. The move comes as local airport staff continue their duties during the busy travel season.  KBOI
  • Betty — a Kuna woman — celebrated her 103rd birthday with a parade on Friday, March 13, where the Kuna Police and local residents gathered to wish her well.  KBOI
  • The Eat. Drink. Shop. Market in downtown Boise will conclude soon as it runs for three more Saturdays at The Warehouse *10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.* Local vendors showcase food, drinks and crafts as winter draws to a close.  KIDO

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Intermountain Gas Co. will start replacing natural gas mains and services in Southwest Boise from March 16 to March 30 as part of an integrity management process—expected to take four to five months and replace about 19,790 feet of main and 324 services with a brief interruption.  KBOI
  • A new Fred Meyer is under construction in Caldwell at the intersection of Highway 20/26 and Middleton Road. The 155,000 sqft store will open in early 2027 and is expected to create over 200 new jobs — offering fresh food and groceries to local families.  KBOI

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in Idaho are now $3.60 a gallon, up 65 cents from a month ago with a nine-cent rise since Thursday (Camas County tops at $3.85 while Butte County is lowest). In Boise, regular unleaded increased from $3.50 to $3.60 yesterday.  KBOI

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Idaho water managers said the state’s mid-March snowpack is 64% of average after a warm winter — a level that may limit spring runoff into rivers and reservoirs; officials plan flood control releases if heavy rains fall.  KBOI

HEALTH NEWS

  • Genesis Community Health, a 25-year-old faith-based clinic serving low-income and uninsured patients, offers free medical, dental, and mental health services at locations in Garden City and Caldwell — the organization also provides volunteer-driven care and transportation options via Uber or Treasure Valley Transit.  KBOI

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • The Jefferson Street project will transform a downtown block as a long-standing urban renewal district sunsets & plans for new improvements emerge in western downtown. Officials expect more details to be released soon.  Idaho Press
