ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • State natural resource leaders told Boise officials Monday that proposed budget cuts may make wildfire suppression and water quality efforts more challenging this summer (with heightened risks expected).  Idaho Press

  • Taxpayers may receive an Idaho verification letter that asks them to confirm their identity before refunds are processed; the Tax Commission advises typing tax.idaho.gov/idverify into your browser and calling official numbers—responding is required whether or not taxes are filed.  KIDO

  • New data from the National Cancer Institute and CDC shows cancer diagnosis rates in Idaho counties—nine of the top 15 are rural areas with long drives to screening appointments. The findings highlight challenges many communities face in accessing timely care.  KIDO
