- ➤ Coa Cantina will officially open on Friday, Feb. 7 at Harris Ranch (3724 S. Eckert Road) in East Boise. The restaurant by Torro Restaurant Group will offer tacos, tequila-forward cocktails and a lively cantina atmosphere with indoor seating and patio options. KBOI

- ➤ Zoo Boise is hosting Woo at the Zoo on Feb. 12 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for guests 21 and older, where an after-hours tour, insights on animal mating behaviors, and seasonal appetizers plus beer and cider are available for $24. KIDO

- ➤ The Boise Fire Department responded to a fire at the Civil Engineering Building on campus last night and extinguished it with no injuries reported — classes at the Morrison Civil Engineering Building are canceled today and the building remains closed. KBOI

- ➤ Idaho officials advise residents to keep batteries, electronics, and other hazardous items out of regular trash to prevent fires and pollution. Recently, Boise Fire responded to a battery fire, and authorities recommend recycling these items at designated drop-off sites + following local guidelines. KIDO

- ➤ Utah’s proposed gas tax restructure is stirring discontent among Idaho residents and petroleum industry leaders, as the bill has not been filed yet. Local groups worry the potential changes may soon affect fuel prices in our region. Idaho Press
