Students up to 18 years are welcome to participate regardless of your enrollment status at Beyond the Books!

Step into a room where history stands still… until you press a button.

The Beyond the Books' Living Wax Museum is a one-of-a-kind interactive event where students become the voices of the past. Participants choose a historical figure, research their life and contributions, and prepare a short first-person presentation. On event day, they dress the part and stand as “living statues,” ready to come to life when visitors press their button.

From inventors and leaders to artists and activists, our students transform research into storytelling and facts into living history. Guests move through the museum, meeting figures from across time periods and cultures, each one sharing their story in their own words.
