Cydney Covert. Originally from Pensacola, Florida, Cydney moved to Boise in 2014 to train at Ballet Idaho’s academy as a pre-professional student. She was hired as an apprentice in 2016, promoted to corps de ballet in 2018, and became a soloist in 2024. She made her choreographic debut in 2019 for Ballet Idaho’s NewDance program and created a second piece for their 2021 digital season. Her work See You On The Other Side was performed at the 2021 Treefort Music Festival. She served as the co-choreographer and rehearsal director for Daniel Ojeda’s BY & BYE in 2024 and was the choreographic assistant for Joseph Hernandez’s work Untitled (Derogatory) as part of the Seattle Festival of Dance and Improvisation (SFD+I) in 2025. In 2025, she was also commissioned by LED to create a work for their inaugural season at The Dixon, in collaboration with Elijah Jensen-Lindsey, making her the first choreographer aside from the founding director to create a work under the LED moniker. In the same year, she was one of two inaugural choreographers for Project Flux’s Perspectives series. She also dances for Boise-based contemporary companies Project Flux and LED, directed by Lydia Sakolsy-Basquil and Lauren Edson, respectively, and is a member of Blue Screen Dance under the direction of Joseph Hernandez. She is currently pursuing her M.A. in Criminal Justice at Boise State University and teaches for the Academy at Ballet Idaho.
