About this event
This class looks to blend ATG-style training, with hard-style kettlebelling, and some good old-fashioned exercise fun. It is on your coach's mental checklist to make sure every class builds the body from the ground up, includes 1 or 2 kettlebell movements, addresses modern societies' common weak links, improves people's mobility, strengthens their core, and has 1 or 2 “fun” exercises. All classes primarily involve classic strength training rep and set schemes but in a faster class environment. This way we can keep the energy up but still measurable track progress over a 4-week program. “If you're having fun while working out then I’ve done my job, and if you're not having fun yet maybe you just need a higher tolerance for suffering.” -David W. If you aren’t familiar with ATG’s unique style of training, it has been taking over social media since the Kneesovertoesguy started crushing out 2 handed dunks and throwing down knowledge about the need to move through full ranges of motion. What a lot of people don’t know about the Kneesovertoesguy is he started a program for training coaches to coach others. David Woody, the primary coach for this class has been doing ATG for 2 years. And has been mentored in the coaching program for over a year and is now a level 1 certified coach. But he also brings experience with strong first-style kettlebell coaching and 5 years of medical experience in physical therapy. “Strength is gained in the range it is trained” -Charles Poliquin Movement quality and safety are extremely important to your coach and iconic exercises like the ATG Split squat and a hardstyle kettlebell swing are complex movements. So please trust your coach if he asks you to elevate a split squat or decrease the weight for your swings. Regressing an exercise for better movement quality is almost always an upgrade to your workout, not a downgrade. So, push yourself but don’t break yourself. “Working safely may get old, but so do those who practice it” -Unknown.
